CAMBRIDGE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

Tile above Committee met in the Borough Chambers on Wednesday afternoon at 5 p.m. There were present : Messrs G. E. Claik (chairman), A. Bach, 1\ Wells and Jas. Webber.

IssPi ct jr's Report.? —The reports oj the examining Inspector for the years 189"), 6 and 7, which had been ask"d for at the last meeting, were submitted, and it was found that there ivas a gradual improvemeut.--Th.i Committee thanked Mr Wells tit a tabulated statement he had prepared of the attendances, and other matters connected with the school. It was considered a valuable document, and the compilation of it was ordered to be continued.

Paist.NO.—The Board of Krlucition advised the Committee on Bth October last that it hid instructed its painters to piint the school-teacher's residence at Cambridge, but nothing had as yet been seen of them, although three months had pa : s d.

Members of the Boabd.—The usual notification re the retiring members of the Board \v.«s received.—lt was resolved to nominate Messrs S. Luke and L. J. Baguall. The BANK Chakcks.—A circular was received from the Board of Education reoni!i:cnding that no action should be taken re the proposed bank charges ti 1 further communications were icccived from the Bank of New Zealand.—The Chairman pointed out that the account could be opened with another Bank in Auckland at a cost of about 4s per annum for exchange, whereas the Bank at Cambridge would charge 21s. Tank.—lt was dcc : ded to ask the Board of Education to supply another iron tank, one having worn into ho'es. Accopnts.— The following accounts were passed for payment:-J. Ferguson, lis; C.
