KIHIKIHI SPORTS.

On New Year's Day the annual sports were held in the Domain. There was a good attendance, between 500 and 600 people being prefent. The meeting was an unqualified success, due in a very large measure to the indefatigable secretary, Mr Sam. Armstrong. . There were two booths for the supply of refreshments, a publicans' under the care of Mr Corboy, and one for the supply of light refreshments in charge tf Mr Peckham. Both did a good trade. The Te Awamutu Band was on the ground, and during the day played some excellent selections in a very pleasing manner. The result of the different events was as follows: — 220 Yorels Handicap (amateur).—W. Kay (owes 10yds), 1; G. McGhie (?cr.), 2. 2-0 Yards Handicap Hurdles (open).— M. Harris (owes 10yds), 1 ; W. Baker (scr), 2. Pony Hurdles. 14.2 and under.—Mr Thompson's Darkie, 1 ; Mr Corboy'u Blackbird, 2. 150 Yards Handicap, boys under 16. T. Searancke, 1 ; L. Lewis, 2. 100 Yards Handicap (amateur). —Geo. McGhie (14yds), J ; A. Corboy (16yds), 2. Trotting Handicap. —Mr Thompson's Kairama (40;ecs), 1; Mr Wihon's Otara (scr), 2. 220 Yards Handicap (open).—J. Gardiner (scr.), 1 : F.
