RACES. The annual meeting of the above club was held on New Year's Day, and was in every way a pronounced Biiccess. The Hamilton Bsnd (Bandmister Munro) were aho present, and their p'aying on this occasion was n treat to listen to, which reflects the g'tutcst credit on the landmaster, Mr J. Shepherd) was here, there and everywhere, and worked hard to the meeting, which wes carried oat fahly well, with thn exception of a couple of mistakes a success. 1 he other stewardperformed their duties in a like inauner, and left nothing to be desired. Mr Nob'e, as judge, was the richt man in the right place, and although u dispute occurred in the Trotting Race a;i to how many times the horses had to puss the post, when he gave his decision n favour of Harry it was accepted without a murmur. Mr E. With the exception of these few mistakes., everything passed off allright.
