The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited), report :—Auckland Wool Stores, Wednesday. Hides and skins were in very full supply at our weekly sale on Tuesday last. Hides : The market is easier, with the exception of cow and stout ox, which are in keen demand. We sold prime stout ox, ojd to GJ-d ; heavy stout ox, 4Jd to 5Jd ; light and medium, 31d to 3gd ; kip, 2jd to 3£.l ; calf, best, 4jd to sjd. Sheepskins were about on a par with last week’s rates. We sold large locgwcols at 4s 6d to 5s 7d ; lambs, Is to Is 8d ; salted pelts, lid to Is 2d ; dry, 4d to 9d. Tallow : Medium rendered is worth 11s 3d to 12s 6d. Horse hair, Is to la 3Jd ; cow hair, 9d to lOd lb. Oats : Market still firming, and price has advanced on last week’s quotations to 2s 2d to 2s 3£d, c.i f. Maize : Market still advancing, value this week being about better than last, viz., 2s 3Jd on wharf. Chaff : Nothing new to report, the market remaining the same. Messrs Alfred Bcckland and Sons’ Weekly Report.—At the Haymarket; Maize, 2s 5d poats, 2s 5d ; barley, 2s 61; wheat, 4s 3d bushel ; chaff, £3 5i to £4 10s ; Bundarra bonedust, £6 10s ; Chesterfield guano, £3 10s ton. Maize on wharf, 2s 3d bushel. On Friday horses, yarded numerously, were at late values. Horses with a ton trial brought from £l2 to £l7 ; with a spring cart trial, £6 to £l2 each ; a buggy, £5 os. On Tuesday, hides in usual number. Ox hides kept their values, but cow hides were lower lb ; ox hides were from 3Jd to 4Jd ; cow hides, 2Jd to 3Jcl ; calfskins, 4d to lb. Fat, fd to IJd ; tallow, 11s 3d to 12s 3d ; bones, 3a 6d cwt. Wool sheepskins, 3s to 4s lOd ; pelts, 8d to Is ; lambs, Is to Is 7d. At Drury on Wednesday a full muster of cattle of all classes met a steady demand at" current values. Grown steers were from £3 15s to £4 os ; dairy cows, up to £4 17s fid ; dry cows, up to £2 15s; yearlings, £1 14a; calves, 14s to £1 5s each. At Remuera on Thursday dairy cows of fair to good quality were in better demand; those at profit were from £3 12s fid to £6 each. Store cattle in limited number were at lower values. Calves numerous, 83 sold, were at lower values throughout. Fat cattle numerous; 240 yarded, but many withdrawn, were at last week’s values ; kindly utecra were at 15s the 1001 b. Sheep, in less than usual average supply, 1100 sold, were slightly bet'er worth. Wethers were from fis to 9s ; ewes, fis to 8s each. Lambs in full number; 493 sold ; prime quality were from 8s to 10s 3d ; inferior, from 5s upward.
