Mr Aijjxasder Aitken's Report.— In consequence of the heavy arrivals ot new seasons fruits, potatoes, etc., auction business has been very brisk, lar«e consignments arriving from the country daily~and meeting with eager purchiseis at high rates. Old potatoes are almost unsaleable. 'Frisco onions are easier and Mill drop further. Eggs and butter in full supply, but all lines have realised satisfactory prices. New cheese from Canterbury and the North is now plentiful. Fruit fit for table use is scarce and dear. Nearly SOOO bunches bananas arrived to-day, and were cleared at improved prices. Poultry is still arriving to a grand market, and well-bred young pigs are eagerly snapped up.
