HAMILTON REGATTA.

A meeting of the General Committee appointed to carry out the Hamilton Regatta on 30th December was held at the Hamilton Hotel on Thursday evening. There were present : Messrs G. Edgecombe, (chairman) John Knox, J. K. McCassic, F. K. Kinloch, A E. Mannine, D. Ross, H. Holloway, W. Bright,"R. F. Sandes, T. Kirk, junr. A. H. Atkinson, R. J. Gwynne, W. Cribble, S. Tucker, slid A. J. Coyle.

A letter was read from Mr A. Grant District Traffic Manager, g'ving particulars of the train service for the 30th. as proposed by the Department. The Secretary was instructed to wiite to Mr Grant, suggesting th.it the return tiaiu should leave Hamilton at 5.30 p.m and arrive at Auckland at 10 p.m, ami asking that the arrangements in connection with the Pa"ioa, Te Awamutu and Cambridge branches be the same as on show day. Mr F. W. M.H.R., wrote accepting the position of Patron, and enclosing donation of £1 Is. On the suggestion of the Auckland Swimming Club, who promised ta do a'l possible in getting entries, it was decided to substituteaswimming race of 150 yards for the one of 440 yards originally placed on the programme. It was renolved to ask Mr C. G. Knox to act as one of the handicappers, and to ask the Auckland Swimming Club to nominate another to act with him.

The Secretary was instructed to apply at once to the New Zealand Swimming Association and the New Zealand Bowing Association for permission to hold the respective events under their rules. (in the suggestion of Mr Manning, the Rob Roy Canoe Rice was: altered from under 18 to an open handicap race Mr A. H. Atkinson was appointed Treasurer.

The Programme Committee, viz., Messrs R, F. Sandes, W. Gribble, A. E. Manning, 11. Holloway and J. 11. Edwards, with the addition of Messts G. Edgecombe, -V. 11. Atkinson, and R. J. Gwynnc were appointed as an Executive Committee. Mr Sandes intimated that Messrs P. Haynian and Co, had promised a trophy valued £1 Is, and Mr Manning saitl Messrs Sharland and Co, had made a similar donation.
