BAND OF HOPE JUBILEE.

An entertainment to celebrate the jubilee of the Hand of Hope was held last evening in the Volunteer Hall, Hamilton. His Worship the Mayor of Hamilton (Mr W. Dey) took the chair. The proceedings were opened by the sineing of hymn 511. The Rev. J. M. Mitchell then offered a prayer. The following programme was then gone through, each item being very well given :—Recitation, Miss Lily Hines ; duct, Misses Meachem ; solo, Miss Jeanie Reid ; address, Mr Hatrick ; dialogue, " Parson and Parishioner," Messrs Exelby and Lucas ; hymn 421, audience ; recitation, Miss Houghton ; quartette, Mrs Gilmour, Miss Morris, and Messrs Meacham and Mitchell ; duet, Misses Murray ; recitation, " The Log at his Master's Grave," Miss Annie Cox ; hymn 611, audience ; benediction, Rev. J. M. Mitchell. The proceeds will be handed over to the Library Committee.
