FIGHTING IN SOUDAN.
OF FRENCH DETACHMENT.
Paris, September 20. News has been received from iho "Western Soudan that the fo.-ces under Samory, the well-known Mohammedan chief, bave engaged and dispersed the French native detachment operating at Lobi. Two officers and six riflemen attached to the French party were killed, while thirty-eight are reported to be missing.
