PEACE NEGOTIATIONS.
London, July 10. The Standard's correspondent at Constantinople states that the Torto has agreed to reduce tho Greek war indemnity by two million pounds. The Times' correspondent states that Tewfik Pasha has requested explicit terms, otherwise Turkey will refuse to negotiate on the basis submitted by the Powers. The Times states that the Foreign Ambassadors have asked Tewfik Pasha to definitely consent or refuse to negotiate for peace with Greece on the basis of the terms put forward by the Powers. The Standard states that Turkey's demands have been considerably modified, and there seems a chance of the Turks listening to reason. Constantinople, July 15. A stormy interview took place between Khalil Rifaat Pasha, tho Turkish Grand Vizier, and M. Nelidoff, the Russian Ambassador, in the course of which the Vizier declared that the Turkish troops would evacuate Thessaly when Russia restored Kars and Patoum to Turkey. The Foreign Ambassadors consider the prospects of settlement have iru* proved.
