(BY TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent). TruAnu, Last Night. At the Borough Council meeting last night an attempt was made to ailirm the principle of the " Living Wage" before opuning tenders for the three years contract for the work of maintaining the water race, but only three councillors voted for it. Seven tenders were received. Making certain allowances, workmen have an advantage. An average showed that the workmen tendering reckoned their living wage as 37s td a v. eek.
