The first of the eases against a number ot Syrians began at the Supreme Court to day, when the Collector of Customs sued Michael David, also known as Mic bael Raphael Furry, for £IOO, penalty on two alternative counts of alleged fraudulent evasion of customs duties by making false declarations. Translations of letters seized in accused's letter book were put in addressed to " A zzi Brothers, Paris," and others. In these repeated mention was made of sending "under value invoices." The case is proceeding.
