LODGE-BETA MASONIC BALL.
All the arrangements for the annual ball of the Hamilton Masonic Lodge are now well advanced. Profiting by the experience of their past most successful dances the Executive have been enabled to make improvements in many matters of detail, and it is confidently anticipated that this year's ball will be a further advance on preceding ones. The dressing rooms at the back of the stage have been thrown into one, forming a handsome supper room, and the committee have been enabled to make great improvements in this department generally. Large temporary dressing rooms are also being erected in the front of ;hc hall. A special feature will be the lighting and decorating of the hall. Chan(ialiers have been specially designed and fitted for the occasion, and cannot fail to produce a most brilliant Unfortunately, our Hamilton hall with its bare unsightly walls, has very little of the appearance of a ball-room, but this difficulty will be evercome by a most elaborate system of decoration which will entirely change the appearance of the hall. For weeks busy fintrers have been engaged in preparing drapeiy banners and trophies in the ledge colours and of Masonic design, which will nluost entirely cover the walls and constitute a new departure in this respect It is anticipated that the attendance will fully equal that of last year, beyond that it will not be allowed to go, as the committee are determined to issue no more than a certain number of tickets. We have been requested to point out that it is necessary for all persons to provide themselves with tickets iu advance, as no one can, under any circuinstjiices, be admitted without a ticket, or by payment at the dcor. Persons who have received invitations can obtain tickets from any of the Executive Committee (Messrs Swarbrick, Atkinson and Gwynne). It is also necessaiy tor guests to bear in mind that as the Installation Ceremony has to be completed before the ball, the hall will not be opened befoie the time mentioned in the invitations, 9. p.m.
