The number of natives employed on relief works in India is 3,-181,000. China is making arrangements with a British syndicate for a loan of six teen million pounds. The Orange Free States Government has, it is stated, informed President Kruger that he must not look to the Republic to support the Trausvsnl in the event of hostilities, consequent on breaches of the Loudon Convention.
