(ISY TELI'GRAI'H, — OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Auckland, Last Night. A GKXKIiAL tendency was manifested on the Exchange to day for prices to harden all round. I here were buyers for 02 different stocks, the best demand still being for Lower Thames mures. KuranuiCaledonians were wanted at 4s Sd. May Queens agin changed hands at 7s 3d, at which figure farther litres could have been placed. Buyers ol Moanatairi shares advanced to lis, but the only quoted seller was at 12s. Albuinias also firmed in pi ice. 4s being offered today. Sheridan? and Victorias maintained the recent rise. Kuaotunu stocks have not so far participated in tire improvement in the market. Upper Thames stocks meet a gradually growing demand. Crowns sold to-day at '24s, and were still in demand at 22s Gd, Waihi Silver-tons firmed a little, 19s being offered. Talismans had a steady demand at lis (id, but Ids has been freely offered piivately. Talisman Extended, Imperials, Ivanhocs, Tluanuis and Oceanias were all a shade better in price to-day. Waverleys and Young New Zealands were each still wanted at id. while buyers for W'oodstocks advanced their offers to 31s o'd without tempting holders to sell. Great Harrier stocks were in good demand all round, while there was a decidedly better feeling with respect to shares in the Corrinandei Companies. Hauraki Norths had considerable enquiry and tinned a little in* price, as did also Bunker's Hills, Hauraki No. 2, and Hauraki Reefs. We'come Finds advanced from sellers to buyers at 2s Id, with no sellers under 2s Cd.
