WAITOA ROAD BOARD

Tin-; ordinary monthly meeting of the v \ aitoa Road Board took place in the Board's office last Saturday. Present : Messrs W. P. Chcpmell (in the chair), J. Hon ell and A. J. Farmer. The Clerk reported that lie received subscriptions promised tow aids the cost of cleaning out and deepening drain known as Cassidy's, at Manawaitt, as follows : The Bauk of New Zealand

Estates Company. t'7 ; Stephen Gray, €•_> 10s. For repairing the Te Kawana Road the following tenders were received— Clearing at per chain and claying at per jard: S. Hamilton, L's 3d and KM ; J. Shine, Is fid and Is (id ; J. I'arr, lid and lid; \V. Lusby, informal; S. Bellamy, Is fid and Is ; J. T. Tretheway, 2s and Oil ; E. Voyscy, lOd and lOtl (accepted). The drain contract given up by Thos. Hughes, near Kershaw's, was re-let to W. Lu-by at 7 s per chaio. Mis Margaret Limey, of Lauristcn, having ptrehased the Tatuaohaua Block, it was resolved t<> take the necessary steps to have the property put in her name oil the roll. The collector was ins'ructed to get in all unpaid rates and 10 per ce: t. added without delay—taking legal proceedings, if neccssaiy. for their recovery —in order to secure the Government subsidy.
