PROPOSED CONFERENCE OF CLERGY AND LAITY.
A CONFERENCE of the Anglican Clergy and lay officers of the Archdeaconry ot Waikato will be held in St. Andrew's School-1 ooni, Cambridge, on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 11th and 12th. Sessions will be held each evening and in the afternoon of the second clay. A celebration of the Holy Communion will l)d helil on the morning of the 12th at S o'clock. The following are among the questions to be submitted for consideration :—(I) Why are so few members of the church regular communicants ? ('!) Arc the new oral examinations in the Sunday-schools a success? (o) Are guarantees from the Parochial Districts to missions, etc., feasible? (4) What are the best magazines for Parish circulation amongst the young ? (3) Can we widely circulate tiie Southern Cross Log (the organ of the Melancsian Mission) ? (0) What Sunday at Synod-time should (he session include? (7) What preparation should we make for the general Synod election ? (S) What is the best closing time fur the parochial year? (0) Should parishioners removing have letters commendatory ? (10) Is a plebiscite re .Bitle in schools desirable? (11) Should the manner of notice of intended marriages be amended ? The conference will lie open to the public; and any church worker may take part in the discussions.
