A schoolboy, named Franco Herket, aged 11), vent on to the logs at the Te Knpuru bcoms along with athcr boys. Wnilst tiying to jump fiom one log to another he fell into the water Not being able to swim he was swept under the raft of the logs and drowned before assist nice could be procured.
