RANGIAOHIA ROAD BOARD.

Tut: uaual monthly meeting of the above Board was held in their office on Saturday last. There were present :—Messrs "VV. H. Mandeno (chairman), Richard Burke, Geo. McKinder and Michael Turney. CoKKiisroNLEXCB. The following letter was received from Mr T. J. Lockwood, of flunua :— ; ' At a meeting held in Hunua on January 16th, 1896, to consider the low prices of agricultural produce, it was decided to form u committee to send circulars to all local bodies in the Auckland Province, requesting them to call a public meeting in their districts for the purpose of ventilating the question and selecting delegates to meet and confer at Auckland, in the Metropolitan Hotel, on March 313 t, 1897. The business to discuss was the ways and means of co-operating to control and improve the price of agricultural produce in local markets.—The letter was received.

Knoinekb.—The resignation of tlie Board's civil engineer, Mr Alex. Armstrong, was received with regret. .Resignation ok Clerk,—Mr George Cruickshank, the Board's clerk and treasurer, wrote to the chairman and members of the Board as follows: "Having removed my residence and principal place of business to Coromandel, I feel I can no longer give your Board the attention it deserves, and I, therefore, beg to resign my appointment as your clerk and treasurer. Your new clerk had better take over the books from the 31st March next, and I can then obtain a clean certificate from the auditor! Thanking you and all the members of the Board for the various kindnesses I have received during the years we have been associated". —The Chairman stated that arrangements had been made for Mr C. Bowden to take over the clerkship at a salary of .020 per annum.—lt was considered unnecessary to call for applications. Fuj:/.e.—A letter was received from Mr \V. E. Jones asking the Board to allow him a little more time to clean his portion of the roadside.—Granted. Tmr.rs.— A letter was received from the Department of Lands and Survey, Auckland, informing the Board that the amount of "thirds" due was £4 7sßd, which amount would be paid into the Bank.
