SEAMEN'S TROUBLES.

♦ (BY TELEGRAPH—OWN COEKESrON DENT). Wellington, Last Night. The local office of the Union Steamship Company is advised from head quarters that the matters in dispute between ihe Dunedin branch of the Federated Seamen's Union and the Union Company were finally settled. It appears that the difference between the Wellington branch of the Seamen 's Union and the local shipowners will not be cleared away so easily, and the failure of the parties to come to terms even after a conference had arranged basis of compromise, indicates that the Court of Arbitration will have to decide the difficulty.
