AMBULANCE CLASSES.
«. On Wednesday hist, the successful candidates at the recent Ambulance examination, held at Cambridge, under the auspices of the St John Ambulance Association, met in St. Andrew's schoolroom, for the purpose of obtaining their certificates. There was a good attendance or members and friends, and after pu'takiug of afternoon tea, kindly provided by the ladies, tll3 Veil. Archdeacon Willis called on the secretary (Mr G. S. Dixon) to read the balancesheet, which after all liabilities had been met showed a surplus of £4 lis 3d. The Archdeacon then presented the certificates, congratulated those who had been successful in obtaining passes. He spoke in eulogistic terms of Dr. Perceval's kitidess in giving the lectures, which he felt sure, were listened to throughout, with great attention and interest. On behalf of the ladies and gentlemen who attended the classes, the Archdcateon then presented the doctor with a handsome walking stick (made from colonial woods) and a cigar-holder. Dr. Perceval in replying thanked the donors, and said he was amply repaid for any service he had rendered by the manner in which his pupils had acquitted themselves. The proceedings then closed with the singing of the National Anthem. The following is a list of the passes : —First and second aid : Mesdames JBrooks, Hudson, Richardson, Watts, Misses A. Evans, Gwynneth, Howard, R. Nixon, Priestley and Young. First aid : Mesdames Heather, Murtyn, Rowe. Misses Diall, Oifney, M. Kingsford, B. Scott, C. Willis, Messrs S. Chambers, J. Drall, R. Galbraith, VV. Hicks, E. Harvey, W, Hooper, J. Langniuir an-.'. C. Nixou.
