Nearly all the sheep catalogued came forward, bidding was brisk, Mid notwithstanding the upwind tendency ot the market buyers were plentiful, and very few lots were allowed to pass. Most of the sheep passed were afterward* disposed of privately. The late rains have caifcd an abundance of feed everywhere, and this probably accounted in no small measure for the noticeable rise in the prion ef almo-t every class, all hough tlieie were if coins', exceptions, takiny the animals as a whole they were certainly not of the tirsc water, and this makes the appreciable jump all the more Mirpii.-ing. The highest fuuro reached during the day was obtained by Messrs H. and J. Goodfellow, for a choice lot of 100 two-tooth Lincoln ewes, which tell to the bid of Mr McElwain, at Ms. Lambs were slightly in advance of last fair's figures, although the top price 7s lOd obtained for Lincoln lambs for Mr Fisher, only came within 3d of that obtained by Mr Hodgson on February 3rd.
