KIHIKIHI.
♦ ■ Picnic—The animal general picnic, held in Mr Fnn-ell's paddock on Thursday, was very well attended, Te Awamutu and other surrounding parts being well represented. The committee worked hard and Kept everyone well supplied with refresh men ts. Suitable games were indulged in by the children and their ciders; races and other contests were arranged for the former, the winners being rewarded with substantial prizes. The promoters and those who worked so hard in preparing food, etc., and assisting to dispense it, also in providing amusement for the youngsters, are deserving of thanks from all who participated in the pleasures of the dny. The inevitable dance in the Town Hall was held in the evening, and proved both sociable and enjoyable. The day was observed as a general holiday in Kihikihi in place of yesterday, the 2!)th.— (Own Correspondent).
