A lire broke out in the Hasting'* restaurant, known as the Trocadero, occupied by Pinnock, and spread to a b'ock of three shops owned by the trustees of the late Mf3 Warrilow. The Trocadero was entirely destroyed, and the other buildings considerably damaged, flic insurance on Pinnoek's furniture and stock was £ I -30 in the Royal and on the building £IOO in London Liverpoolaud Globe. W'arrilow'spremises were insured for £430 in the Smith British. Dcwsnap's jewellery and goods were slightly damaged by removal. CiHUsti'UCkch, Last Night.

At the Police Court to-day, a young man named Thos. Edward Pearee was charged with stealing a bicycle. The police stated that yesterday about midday after his arrest accused became very ill and said he had taken poison. He was removed to the hospital, where he died this morning. The case was struck out.
