ST. JOHN AMBULANCE SOSIETY.

Ox Thursday afternoon Dr. Perceval conducted an examination of the lady members of the Hamilton branch of the St. John Ambulance Society in St. Peters' Sunday-school. Dr. Browis has been holding classes for some weeks past and the result of the examination reflects the greatest credit on him as a teacher, as well as on the ladies for their al ility. Of the thirty-six members of the ladies' class, twenty-six presented themselves for examination, and of these no les-i than :ix gained the maximum marks, viz., 300. Of these six it is noteworthy that four are married ladies. Some of the papers have been omitted in the list. and as the telegraph otliec was not open last night, the. secretary was unable to obtiin any informa'ion about them, but enquiries are being made, and the particulars will appear in our Tuesday's issue. Below we give the results e>f the examinati n, giving the names ami numbers (if the first six and the numbers only of the others, vi/.: Mesdames Dodd (l(i), Smait (17), Maunder (21), and Haeus'cr (22), ami Misses Watkin (7), and A. Sandes (12), 300 ; Nos. 10, 200 ;S, 285 ; 10, 2SO ; 1 and IS, 275 ; 11. 2(58 : 14, 2(i'i : 2, 2G4 ; 23, 250 -. 4, 248 ; 13, 215 ; ('., 240 ; 10, 225 ; 5, 220 ; and iO and 21, ilO. The examination of the gentlemen's class was held in the evening, when only six attended, the result being tl at Messrs D. L. Smart (3), and Rayiies (6), (d)tained the maximum inaiks, 300, and Nos. 5, i 75 ; and 2, 210. We have to thank the executive for so kindly placing these figures at our disposal.
