On Saturday last, negotiations which have b'en in pt-auress for so r.e time past between the two compmies resulted in the purchase of the Waikato biL-iuc.ss and factories of Messrs Reynolds and Co. by the New Zealand Dairy Association. The purchasing company will at once take over the creameries, factory brand and town busine-s with the goodwill of Reynolds and Co. from September Ist. All contracts entered into by Reynolds and Co. will be carrie 1 our, by the Association, and the working of the creameries in this district will in no wise be disturlel. This purcha-e will place the New Zealand Dairy Association in the leading ranks of dairy companies in the colony, and we h >pc that the farmers may he able in the future to reap some benefits from the increased economics which can he efleo'.cd through the combination of the two businesses.
