(IIY TKI.KIiKAIMI OWN C'OKUKSI'OXDKXT). Nmukk, Last Night. At the annual meeting of the Chamber ot Commerce, Mr J. V. Brown (President), stated, regarding the exports of wool, that theincrease was most marked, the total tor the year being !)21,1i.'W, against 7lS,lil)S last year. The total value of the exports was £l,l!)(i,o7!', a net increase of XISS,7-ll on the previous year. lie suggested that the time had arrived when the Government should create a portfolio of commerce to deal with the question of trade expansion and the opening up of new markets, or developing those existing.
