THE SCULLING RACE.
WON BY STANBCEY.
London, July 13. The sculling match for the Championship of the World and £IOOO, between James Stanbury, of Australia, and C. B. Harding, of England, took place on the Thames course to-day, and resulted in an easy win for Stanbury. Stanbury went to the front shortly after the start, and at Hammersmith Bridge led the diminutive Englishman by a length. This spot was passsd in 8 minutes 17 seconds, which is the fastest time on record. From this out the Australian had the matter all his own way, the race being a mere procession, and Stanbury eventually won by eight lengths. The time was 21 minutes 51 seconds.
