WAIOURU AREA COMMITTEE IN RECESS

The Waiouru Area Committee has decided to go into recess. Recently the Waiouru Community Advisory Committee invited the WAC to disband and join the WCAC to face the upcoming local government reform. WAC chairman Gordon Mottram told the Bulletin last week that the committee will wait and see what comes of the proposed public meeting in March on the reforms before looking at future action. He said the WAC did not want to be perceived as being obstructive and "strength depleting" over the reform issue. He also said the committee did not see the need to disband at this time as there were "urgent matters to attend to".
