RESERVED REACTION TO RAETIHI COUNCIL SERVICE CENTRE OMISSION
Raetihi ratepayers are not yet queuing up to voice their opinions on whether the town should have a service centre. District Council officer at Raetihi, Miss Rhonda Perkins, said she has had about half a dozen people come in to the Raetihi office complaining about the possibility of the town having no service centre. One of those people was considering a petition, she said. Miss Perkins said she thought most Raetihi people would feel strongly that Raetihi should have a service centre, but that they would be waiting to see what the council's decision is before saying anything. "Most people say they don't think it's on that everybody in Raetihi should have to drive to Ohakune to the council offices," said Miss Perkins.
