Otaki bungi ban

Bungi jumping from the Waihoanga suspension bridge in the Otaki Gorge, north of Wellington, has bcen banned by the local county council. The Heavy Rubber Company had been using the bridge for jumps similar to those from the Hapua whenua Viaduct near Ohakune, but the county there decided traffic problems caused by spectators were too great. The company is to look for an altemative bungi site in the lower North Island.
