EMERGENY PARROT CONE
Waimarino Hospital's emergency parrot is missing. The elderly bird flew out the window last Wednesday evening to a nearby pine tree and from there sang its shrill song, which is impossible to differentiate from the sound of the hospital's emergency 111 telephone ringing. She's a rosella parrot with a red head and bright green and yellow colours in other parts, eight to ten inches tall in her stockinged claws. The Bulletin thinks the hospital wants her back though couldn't be 100 per cent sure so if you see her flashing past with siren blaring it might pay to call the hospital before attempting any dangerous re-capture exercise. The Bulletin also isn't sure if staff ever confused the two signals and sent an ambulance to the local aviary and a three-course bird seed meal to an accident!
