Holiday programme goes well
Waiouru's school holiday programme is now into its second week. The programme, •which is split into primary and secondary aged children, includes such activities as horse riding, camping, bush walking, discoing, whitewater rafting, movies, day trips, fishing, a games day and picnicking with volleyball, field cricket, rounders and swimming. While the primary school aged children's programme has proved very popular the teenagers' programme still has places available on this week's activities. Some of the teenagers' activities were cancelled because of numbers. The programme has been co-ordinated by the Waiouru Resource Centre, run by Morag
Gray. She said the programme has been helped a lot by the many parents who have volunteered their time. Other people involved in the pro-
gramme are Army Adventure Training personnel, hospital staff, the welfare section, workshop and the Waiouru Training Depot, the Rod and Gun Club and Major Dave
Wilton who is running the fishing courses. Morag said where the teenagers' activity had been cancelled some were joining in with the younger children's programme.
She said she was pleased the programme was working well after all the work that people have put into it. She said it had taken eight weeks to co-or-dinate the programme.
