WHANGANUI GOAT HUNT CHALLENGE
Whanganui National Park goats are the subject of a challenge put to hunters by the Department of Conservation. Wanganui's district conservator John Ombler has challenged hunters through the Deerstalkers' Association to try their hand at goat control work in the park. He has asked if their are any hunters ablc or interested in hunting goats in difficult tcrrain within the park. Mr Ombler says association branches and DoC should meet to form a plan of action and that a long tcrm project would be needed for goat control work to be effective.
