FILM PEOPLE DROP IN FOR UNEXPECTED STAY

High winds and poor weather last Wednesday did not stop a sleek black helicopter from flying into Ohakune to promote the New Zealand film "Never Say Die", but did stop them from leaving as planned. Lead Actor Temuera Morrison, of Gloss fame, director Geoff Murphy and Everard Films representative Leone Saky arrived in Ohakune to a happy crowd on Wednesday afternoon. The pilot, Waimarino's old friend Lisa Patterson, was flying the group around the country on their promotional tour. Because the trip up from Wanganui was "a bit bumpy" the passengers, reportedly, pursuaded Lisa to call it a day and put off flying to New Plymouth, their next destination, so accommodation was arranged at the Sunbeam Lodge. Geoff Murphy is no stranger to the Waimarino having been here to shoot parts of "Goodbye Pork Pie" at places like Cole's car yard. Lead actor of "Never Say Die" Lisa Eilbacher was taking part in the flying tour but missed out on the Ohakune sojourn because she was in Auckland for TV interviews. While here her friends enjoyed the hospitality of the Sunbeam Lodge and joined in a "Blues Brothers" night that was being held at the Ohakune Club.
