MAGNIFICENT LITTLE FLICKS AND THEIR BUCKET

Whoops! nearly forgot about this one! A couple of magnificent men came to the rescue at the recent Rural Fire Fighting exercise at the Raetihi airstrip. The top dresser Fletcher, which was there to demonstrate how to dump 400 gallons of water on a moving target (hay bale flames), developed a fault in the water bornb bay doors. This led to boredom and frustration among the many fire fighters, so our two magnificent men dragged out their flying machine, a bucket, their leather helmets and goggles and approximately four gallons of water. They bravely boarded their tree top moa and took off (supposedly leaving the catcher behind?). Circling the airstrip, the two flying DoCtors picked out the hot spot, where tempers were boiling, and dumped their aqua medicine. All afternoon one of the magnificent men was heard to say "the microlight's still four gallons ahead of the Fletcher" until the top dresser dumped its 400 on the runway, drowning out little flick.
