RANGITIKEI VALUES DROP
The capital and land values in Waimarino's neighbouring county, Rangitikei, have dropped by 18 per cent and 39 per cent. The figures recently released show the capital value of the county has dropped from $787 million at July 1984 to $642 million at July 1988. Over the same period land values have dropped from $467 million to $285 million. There have been varying changes within the county, with towns showing increased value and rural ridings that had previously shown the largest increase now showing the largest decrease. Valuation New Zealand have said individual properties that have been well maintained have shown the least decrease. For property owners in the Taihape area Valuation New Zealand officers will be available to discuss the valuations in the Taihape offices of the Rangitikei County on December 7.
