Kaka Lodge plan withdrawn in effect
An application to operate a Rangataua residence as a short stay hostel has been withdrawn, the Waimarino District Council heard recently. A lawyer representing the applicants wrote to the council saying that the application to operate Kaka Lodge as an accommodation house was withdrawn "at least in the mean time" because they were unable to meet the expensive requirements of the council. Town planner Ted Fox told the council he believed the applicants were 12 months away from meeting the requirements. He said he believed as far as the council was concerned the application should be regarded as having been withdrawn. A further application would be required for the mat- ) proceed.
