CHRISTMAS MARKET DAY PLANNED FOR OHAKUNE

Ohakune shops are planning a Christmas market day, for Saturday December 17. They invite sports clubs and community organisations to take part in the day with fund raising activities. Those interested are asked to register with Bob Norling, Ohakune TV & Electrical for stall space on the day. Another feature of the market day is to be a car boot sale. Members of the public are invited to fill up the boot of their car with garage sale type goods and head for town. Lions will have their mini motorbikes in town for the children and raffles, fancy dress, clowns and buskers will be part of the day. A bop dancing competition is planned as well as the annual Turoa lost property auction. Father Christmas will arrive in town at about 10.00am Saturday morning. All the Ohakune shops will have bargain counters out on the pavement, tickets to the movies will be given away (tickets for a free film to be shown on Saturday December 24) and Father Christmas will be in his cave for children to visit. For more information on the event call Bob Norline at Ohakune TV & Electrical.
