College week for dental nurses
Dental Nurses from the Waimarino area are aware there is a dental need a m o n g s t teenagers which they are endeavouring to meet. This is coupled with the fact Dental Nurses
are not just looking at their present patient group but outwardly, towards meeting the community's needs. As a starting point the nurses intend t o hold a dental awareness week at Ruapehu College for the junior
school, starting next Monday, November 21. The theme for the week is "Choose Sugar Free Snacks" with lessons and activities accompanying this. There will also be a poster competition
running in conjunction with the week, with prizes awarded for the best three entries. The nurses hope that this type of programme will be repeated in the future, creating good public relations and general awareness.
