WIND

As the wind blew, violently Knocking down doors Turning over cars Falling trees One little girl, stands All by herself In the middle of the

road Calling for her Mum ahd Dad Running from house to house Trying to find somebody "Where have they all gone" She says quietly to h|erself Suddenly a loud clap of thunder Nearly scares her to death Rain comes down out of the sky Huge hail stones came down at her Forcing her to take cover Inside a deserted house There she finds some dry clothes She changes She finds a rain coat and gumboots It starts to get dark and The water is rising fast She starts to get scared And runs out of the house Into the middle of

the road Frightened and panicky She runs towards a light The light gets nearer And so does she But little does she realise This light is a fire engine Looking to see if anybody Needs help She runs blindly into the fire engine Immediately she is killed But the driver does not know In the morning the family returns after a hard night To their flood stricken home To find Their little daughter dead In the middle of the road All because of the terrible Violent wind! by Mandy Pearson This poem is dedicated to all the families hit by Cyclone Bola
