EELING

We are walkmg beside the river with my uncle and my father's fricnd, Peter, and Dad. Everything is quiet; so quiet that you can hcar thc grass being pressed down by your feet, and the wind blowing against the side of your face. By now we should be just about where we are going to set our eeling lines. At last we are there. Now all we have to cto is put something that smells off, likc a picce of stinking mcat, onto the line, throw it out and sit without moving around. Now that everything is set you just wait and if you're good enough you will feel something pulling at the end where the hook and the piece of meat is. Once you feel that something is pulling, give it a quick pull so thc hook will get stuck on the top end of the eels mouth. If you want to know if you've caught something, slowly start pulling your line in without stopping, otherwise it will get stuck bctwecn rocks. When you get it to where you can see the eel, pull a bit fastcr, when you get thc eel where you can grab it, get something hard like a rock and hit the end of the eel's tail. Then chuck it into a sack by sticking your fingers in his gills so he won't slip away. After that roll your line up and put it in the sack where the eel is and put the sack over your shoulder.
