FUEL FOR FIRES?
Yet another alteration story, this time conceming Raetihi Fire Chief Alec Weir's car. This time it didn't get to the damage stage, but our man was enjoying the comfort of sitting in one of the fire tenders when driver Neil McLean backed into his car. Just who put whose fire out isn't clear, or even if there was any fireworks. One source suggested the chief was directing the reversing operation.
