EDITOR SHIFTS RUAPEHU ROCK WITH NOSE
Conservation officers threatened to "throw the book at "Bulletin editor Robert Milne at Labour Weekend after he admitted to them that he had moved a rock in the Tongariro National Park. He admitted coming unstuck while skiing off trail and skidding into some Conservation Act protected rocks, shifting them a few centimetres in the process. Despite pleading with them and stating that he had replaced the rocks (even before mopping up the blood from his demolished nose!-well, scratched actually) the Ohakune officers were not satisfied and searched through their new wagon for "the book". Thankfully they were unsuccessful and thus caused no further injury to the geological alterationist. P.S. The Bulletin hopes the publication of this true account of the incident will lay to rest the rumours that the editor punched himself in the face to save others the bother!
