Fire detectors

At last week's Waimarino full council meeting Cr Bennett questioned the previous finance and administration meeting minutes on a number of points, including one dealing with the installation of fire detectors in council premises.

He said it should have read "that council investigate installing fire detectors..." There was some discussion, with some disagreement over the decision from the meeting. Cr Compton said the initial idea was to start with the pensioner flats. Cr Gould said the

installation should proceed and C r Thompson said most premises should have them but that such buildings as sheds and swimming p o o 1 buildings may not need them. The decision on the detectors was not clear but it is the view of the Bulletin reporter and at least one of the

council officers present at the meeting that the final decision of council was to proceed with the installation.
