OHAKUNE SUBDIVISION CONDITIONS DROPPED

An Ohakune subdivider will see two conditions removed from his proposed Ruapehu Road subdivision approval if the Waimarino District Council accepts the recommendation of its planning committee. Alan Whale asked the council to review the conditions which called for him to make a reserves contribution and to pay towards the upgrading of Ruapehu Road. The Planning Committee heard that the subdivision was not creating a new residential property so shouldn't be levied a reserves contribution. Also, there would not be an increase in traffic because of the subdivision so asking for a roading upgrade contribution was not appropriate, the committee heard. The committee recommended to council that both conditions be dropped.
