Plunket--Karitane appeal totals

Organisers of this year's Plunket-Karitane Appeal are grateful for the amount raised from their door-to-door collection held October 11-17. Collected from the Waimarino area was an interim total of $1299, down from last year's interim total of $1362. Last year's final total was $1442. Members of the Plunket committees and a small number of volunteers made the appeal and visited the majority of homes in the Raetihi and Ohakune areas. Both townships were very quiet over the weekend, with many people not at home for the collectors. All those involved in the collection are thanked for their support. Special mention goes to organisers Diane McCarthy and Lynette Sanders. Any uncollected donations can be left at your local chemist.
