LESSER COGS DEMAND STILL EXCEEDS FUNDS AVAILABLE

While demand for community organization grants has dropped by about 50 per cent funding requests still exceed money available. Applications for the second grants allocation for 1988 closed at the end of September with half the number of the April allocation applying. From the Waimarino Rangitikei area 43 applications have been received for money available which is more than half of the $112,700 allocated to the area at the beginning of the year. The Community Organizations Grants Scheme (COGS) committee for the Rangitikei Waimarino area meet on October 28 to allocate the funds.
