FISHING REPORT

Fishing was cold wet and hard in the Waimarino during the opening weekend of the 1988/89 season, and only the most dedicated anglers were out and about. Historically very few fish are caught early in the season and this has proved to be the case again. However, because

there are lots of small fish around conservation staff are predicting that from late' November fishing will improve with trout putting on condition, so it looks set to be a good season. A Rotorua licence is still required to fish the Waimarino and there are no regulation changes for this season.
