Principal leaves

Raetihi School Principal Geoff Lovegrove was farewelled in style by school children, staff and the community last week. Mr Lovegrove leaves the Waimarino to take up a principal's position at Riverdale Primary School in Palmerston North at the beginning of next term. His wife Sue, a teacher in the Junior Department and their son James will remain in Raetihi until the end of the year. During his three years at Raetihi School, Mr Lovegrove strived to improve the quality of teaching and teaching conditions at the school. At all times he kept in mind that the chil-

dren at the school took priority in any decisions or changes made. He was also actively involved in furthering outdoor education and was enthusiastic about the school's hugely successful ski programme. Mr Lovegrove has been active in the Ruapehu Lions during his stay and was Club president here one year.
