Waimarino golf results
Results of Waimarino Golf Club play from last weekend. On Saturday, August 27, the Turoa Tournament was held, with the first nine holes at Turoa Village then to Waimarino golf course for lunch and 18 holes. It was a fine day but a very soft track. The results are as follows: Ladies: 27 holes nett J. Taylor 100 and a half, runner-up J. Martin 101, 18 holes nett P. Mowatt 74, 9 holes nett L. Drinkwater 1 9 and a half nett. Men: 9 holes gross, P. Goldfinch 27, and the record for this tournament, 27 holes nett; J. Mcllroy 90 and a half, runner-up T. Frederick Junior 92 and a half nett, 27 holes gross; G. Allerby 113, 18 holes nett J. Ennis 71, runner-up T . Donghi 72, 9 holes
nett K. Heinold 16 and a half. Twos were scored by F. Geraghty, T. Donghi 2, P. Goldfinch 3, M . Kennedy 1, G. Allerby 1, J. Martin 1, A. Berridge 1. On Sunday, August 28 the play was for the Captains Trophy and Captain A r t h u r Berridge, elected the game an all irons match. N. Cranston won the day with 39 points, the roarers mug and senior trophy, next G. Allerby; 37 points, then M . Kennedy 36. J. Mcllroy won the junior section with 38 points trophy, next F. Frederick Junior 37 points. J. Hammond 34 points, R. Parsons 33 points. Twos were scored by J. Summerhays only. Lists are on the noticeboard for names of those wishing to play
in the Lions Club Charity Toumament and in the King Country Championships. Please check the state of your matches and bring these up to date. The sponsors last Sunday were Bucks Drapery and Carmicheal Transport.
